Mike Carr is the founder of the Karevo Martial Art Style including director of Karevo Martial Arts & Fitness Centre, Karevo Martial Arts Association, Karevo Fitness and Be Inspired Active Wear. The Karevo style is based on over 30 years Martial Arts training and research.
 
The name Karevo is derived from the words Karate Evolved, hence the name KAR-EVO.
 
Mike Carr's Martial Arts training began in the Karate Dojo. Mike gained his first Black belt in 1988. During his initial 12 year's Karate training and competition he competed at Regional, British and National level. Mike won a SKA National title and also a Bronze medal at the British Karate Championship's. After moving on from the Karate scene Mike furthered his knowledge training in Self Defence based Oriental Ju Jitsu for 4 years and the Filipino Martial Art of Kali / Eskrima for several year's. This time period proved to be a huge learning curve and laid down the first seeds for Karevo's Multi-System. This period was also an experimental time for Mike who continually looked to test what he had learnt, be it in the Dojo or Combat Sport. Realising the importance of Grappling Mike greatly furthered his skills training in Amateur Freestyle Wrestling and Submission Wrestling. This training period spanned a further several year's. During this period Mike also began concentrating on the coaching and instructional side of Martial Arts.
 
Mike has now actively been teaching Martial Arts for over 18 years and has held teachers certificates for Eskrima & Self Defence with the World British Federation of Martial Arts and the British Eskrima Federation. Held teachers certificates for Submission Wrestling with the World United Martial Arts Association and previously held memberships with SKU Karate, SKA Karate, WBFOMA, WUMA, BEF, KSBO, TFF, United Kingdom Muay Thai Federation and CMAA.
 
Mike has attended many seminars in the past and had the pleasure of learning from Rick Young ( JKD Concepts ), Grand Master Bobby Taboda ( Balintiwak Eskrima ), Master Danny Guba ( Doce Pares Eskrima ), Pep Padavano ( Doce Pares Eskrima ), Andy Gibney ( UFS/JKD Concepts ), Dan Smith ( Medieval Weaponry ), Andy Norman (Keysi Fighting Method).
 
The Karevo Martial Arts Styles were initially registered with the Cobra Martial Arts Association. Due to Karevo's success and ongoing expansion the Karevo Martial Arts Association was established in September 2006. The Association Headquarters based in Stockton-On-Tees, Teesside offers a wide variety of training styles ranging from Junior Karate/Kickboxing, Teens Kickboxing/Grappling, Adults Kickboxing including Karevo's unique KOMBAT Multi-System (self defence method).
 
Having been an active Martial Artist for 30 years and an active Black Belt for over 20 years, the founder of his own registered Martial Arts System. The CMAA board of directors officialy awarded Mike Carr the rank of Master Degree 5th Dan in Karevo Martial Arts . The Masters Degree 5th Dan was awarded for Mike Carr's proven success, outstanding ability, contribution and dedication to the Martial Arts for over 30 years.
